NO. 11 WARRIORS EARN TOP-25 WIN

Ottumwa, IA – Five different players went for double-figures to lead No. 11 Indian Hills Men's Basketball to a top-25 victory at the Hellyer Center Tuesday night after upending No. 24 Northern Oklahoma College – Tonkawa 88-82. The win moves the Warriors to 6-2 on the year.

Freshman William Beugre-Kassi (Pontoise, France/Albert Thomas) poured in a game-high 18 points while sophomore Trevion LaBeaux (Waterloo, IA/Ames) recorded his fifth double-double of the year with 17 points and a game-high 18 rebounds. The Warriors led every step of the way on Tuesday night to pick up its second win over a nationally ranked opponent this season.

Coming off its most complete performance of the season in a 96-71 win over Kansas City Kansas Community College, the Warriors followed up with its second consecutive efficient shooting performance, going 31-62 (50.0%) from the floor while connecting on a season-high 43.5 percent (10-23) of its three-point shots. Indian Hills controlled the glass on the night, outrebounding the Mavericks 45-36 while using a 42 bench points to pull away for the win.

LaBeaux tallied his fifth double-double in eight games this year after collecting 11 rebounds in the opening half. The sophomore scored 11 of his 17 points in the second half to propel the offense over the final 20 minutes.

Kassi erupted in the opening half, going 3-3 from beyond the arc to score 15 points in the first 20 minutes of action. The freshman's 18 points are a career-best effort through the first eight games of his collegiate career.

Sophomore Davontae Hall (Chicago, IL/Hyde Park) added 13 points while handing out a team-high five assists to go along with four rebounds. Braden Sparks (Villa Rica, GA/Mercer) added 12 points and six rebounds while Peitok Machar (Sydney, Australia/Greystanes) added a career-high 11 points and five blocks. Kheni Briggs (Kannapolis, NC/Charleston Southern) added 10 points on a pair of three-point shots for the Warriors.

The Warriors jumped out on top of the Mavericks to open the contest Tuesday night as Amarion Nimmers' (Rock Island, IL/Iowa) three at the 13:24 mark gave Indian Hills a 16-6 advantage. The Mavericks pulled back within single digits until a three from Kassi at the 9:33 mark pushed the lead to 11, 26-15. Kassi scored five consecutive points late in the frame for an 18-point advantage as the Warriors went into the halftime intermission leading 49-28.

Indian Hills maintained its double-digit advantage for the majority of the second half as LaBeaux reached a double-double at the 12:06 mark on a three-point shot to take a 60-44 lead. Indian Hills led by as many as 23 before the Mavericks put together a late-game rally, pulling as close as six in the closing minutes. A layup from Briggs with 26 seconds to play put the game out of reach as Indian Hills walked away with its second consecutive victory.

The Warriors return to action this weekend with the RV & Power Sports Classic at the Hellyer Center. Indian Hills will host No. 2 nationally ranked South Plains College (TX) at 7:00 PM on Friday night and the defending national champion John A. Logan College (IL) Volunteers at 7:00 PM Saturday. South Plains and Sauk Valley Community College will match up at 4:30 PM on Saturday night.
