Northern Oklahoma College has selected Bryan Kenney to lead the NOC Men's Wrestling Program at NOC Tonkawa.

The program will begin wrestling in Fall 2024.

Kenney comes to NOC from the Wylie, Texas, area where he currently leads the JJ Pearce High School Wrestling Program and is a Gold Certified Coach with USA Wrestling.

"I first want to thank the NOC Wrestling Search Committee, Kenney said. "I truly appreciate the upcoming opportunity to re-establish the wrestling program at Northern Oklahoma College."

"After being on campus and meeting some members of the community of Tonkawa, I know this is a special place," he said. "We have the support and resources to build a program that will be competing at the national level quickly. This is the heart of 'wrestling country' and NOC offers a great education, academic and athletic scholarships, and is housed in a small town that believes in the future of this program. I am excited to bring my family here and become a NOC Maverick family."

Athletic Director Alan Foster is excited for what Kenney brings to the program.

"Bryan's experience in so many areas of managing and coaching top notch wrestling programs will come in so handy in dealing with all that comes with starting new programs," he said. "I am comfortable with his leadership ability as we re-establish the men's wrestling program."

Kenney graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Marketing and then earned his Master's Degree from Lamar University in Educational Administration.

Coach Kenney has a 228 career dual wins as a head coach and is the director and co-head coach of the Power Training Wrestling Center that he founded in 2021. He was the Head Greco-Roman/ Assistant Freestyle coach for the 2019 15U Pan Am games, coached the Developmental Camp at the Olympic Training Center twice, a National Facilitator for US GRIT (Greco Roman Innovation Team), and JR Duals coach for Texas the last five years.

Kenney is married to wife, Laura, and has two children Reese, 9, and Brexton, 3.

He will also assist with the new NOC Women's Wrestling program.
