Deshazo, Wilson named Student Athletes of the Week

Northern Oklahoma College athletics named Megan Deshazo and Mitchell Wilson as Student Athletes of the Week for Oct. 8.

Deshazo is a sophomore from Sand Springs while Wilson is a sophomore from Ponca City.

Deshazo has four goals and one assist on the year.

"Megan (Deshazo) scored the game winner last week against NEO," said interim head coach Jade Ovendale.  "She has a tremendous work ethic, she brings it every day in training, and to every game. Her goal against NEO is a great example of her work ethic and desire to make plays and score goals. She can go at players, hold the ball up, be an aerial threat and make smart runs."

Wilson started at center back in the Mavericks 3-2 win over Metropolitan Community College.  He scored the game tying goal in the second half minutes after the Wolves had taken the lead.

"Mitchell (Wilson) is the perfect example of a student athlete," said Mavs head coach Michael DuRoy.   "He is one of the best leaders that we have ever had here.  I am so proud of him, and I am beyond happy that he has been a part of our program."
